BIOS

- Dr. Dave Flippo, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, formed Planet Flippo, (formerly Flippomusic) in 1992 after completing his Doctorate and Masters in Music Composition/Piano at the Univerisity of Michigan and Masters at the Eastman School of Music.
 Since then he has livened and worked in Chicago as a composer, pianist, bandleader and teacher since 1987. The ensemble has recorded six CD’s that reflect their various artistic stages -  world/jazz fusion, vocal, settings of the Tao Te Ching , arrangements of contemporary gems and recent contemporary jazz compositions. 
He is a professor at Triton College and College of Lake County.

- Donn De Santo – Acoustic and electric bass. He teaches string bass at Chicago State University and has a Bachelors Degree in jazz studies from DePaul University.  Donn has performed with Event Horizon Jazz Ensemble, John Moran Trio, Brass Tracks Big Band, Pete Ellman, Bill O’Connell Big Band and Cantique.

 - Heath Chappell – Drum set. Also performs and records with Suenos, The New Invaders, Al Rose, Barry Sperti's Caravan, Cantique, John Moran Trio,  Mark Smith's Pong Unit, Midway Ramblers Cajun Band, Mothra and the "Famous Pizza Gig Ensemble" at Bacino's. He revieved his Bachelors of Music from the University of Miami.

- Dan Hesler- Saxophones and flute. In addition to working a full time job as a Federal Defender, Dan performs with various jazz ensembles and jobbing bands. Some of the bands he’s played in include Suenos, Digression Mode, Kathy Kelly Ensemble, Sons of the Never Wrong, Motha, Cerqua Rivera Dance Theatre
