BIOS

- Dr. Dave Flippo, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, formed Planet Flippo, (formerly Flippomusic) in 1992 after completing his Doctorate and Masters in Music Composition/Piano at the Univerisity of Michigan and Masters at the Eastman School of Music.
 Since then he has lived and worked in Chicago as a composer, pianist, bandleader and teacher since 1987. The ensemble has recorded six CD’s that reflect their various artistic stages -  world/jazz fusion, vocal pieces, settings of the Tao Te Ching, innovative contemporary jazz compositions, and arrangements of contemporary gems.
He is a professor at Triton College and College of Lake County.
- Donn De Santo – Acoustic and electric bass. He teaches string bass at Chicago State University and has a Bachelors Degree in jazz studies from DePaul University.  Donn has performed with Event Horizon Jazz Ensemble, and the Brass Tracks Big Band.
 - Heath Chappell – Drum set. Also performs and records with Suenos, The Stingrays, Hashimoto 5, Jay Goeppner's Backdated, and Lovely Little Girls.  He revieved his Bachelors of Music from the University of Miami.
- Dan Hesler – Saxophones and flute. Dan is also a lawyer, and he says I have to acknowledge that he has no formal credentials or degrees in music whatsoever, other than having worked in music for over 40 years as performer, composer, and arranger. He also wrote a book called “Practicing the Jazz Vocabulary.” He currently has three cats.
