Our concert program explores various energy levels and moods. Dave has created extraordinary arrangements of familiar contemporary tunes from the 60’s that offers something familiar to every generation. The music offers wide range of tempos and grooves by artists like Lennon/McCartney, Steely Dan, Bowie, Radiohead, Dylan, Amy Winehouse, Sting, and Soundgarten.

"
When Dr. Dave Flippo move to Chicago after year of studying and exploring ethnic music from the world over, he created a style of writing that blended one particular culture’s style with jazz elements. The result was over 30 pieces and two CD’s that offer a dizzying array of grooves and colors that is both exciting and fun.
"
In ensemble's fifth CD, “Tao Tunes,” Dave Flippo set various chapters of the ancient Tao Te Ching to music. Perhaps surprisingly, the music's grooves, tempos and energy levels are all over the map. The pieces range from Latin to swing, jazz waltz to ballad. The originals are interspersed with like-minded contemporary tunes by Lenon/McCartney, Flaming Lips, Eden Ahbez and Stevie Wonder.
