The kind of program we'd play at a liverly outdoor street festival. A celebration of the many grooves and styles of jazz, mixing standards with modern favorites. Unique arrangements of tunes by Stevie Wonder,
Sly Stone, Amy Winehouse, Steely Dan, Dave Flippo, Joni Mitchell, Michael Jackson, Cream and more.
Giraffe Trek - Dave Flippo
Dave Flippo's compositions and arrangements blend jazz with styles from the world over creating, fresh sounds and grooves. A mix of Flippo originals and recognizable traditional favorites. Music from their first two CD's explore styles blend jazz with the music of India, Eastern Europe, Africa, the Middle East, North, Central and South America, and Asia.
Useful - Dave Flippo
Dave Flippo sings his settings of the inspiring, and often relevant, Chinese writings of the "Tao Te Ching" and it's insights on life and the ways of the world. The music and the text cover a wide range of moods and styles including swing, Latin, ballad, Indo-jazz, jazz waltz and funk. Selections include tunes like: Useful, Stop!, Paradox, Feeling, Trouble, and Water.
The Ensemble can perform as a quartet or trio. Jazz for the Generations can be performed as a duo. All performances include Dave on vocalsand melodica.
The trio can appear as piano/bass/drums or piano/bass/saxophone-flute.
Band members include: Dave Flippo-keys/vocals/melodica, Donn De Santo-bass,
Heath Chappell-drum set, Dan Hesler-saxophones and flute.

Joni Mitchell, Amy Winehouse, Cream, Jimi Hendrix, Cole Porter, Billie Eilish, Dave Brubeck, Lenon/McCartney, Brian Wilson, Bob Dylan and more. (This program can also be performed as a duo.)

Tao Tunes
Tao for The Now
Dave Flippo's love for the Tao Te Ching inspired him to set 18 texts called "Tao Tunes," which cover a wide variety of styles including swing, Latin, funk, ballad, jazz waltz, Indo-jazz and rock. These ancient messages are inspiring and give the listener striking glimpses of how the world works and they ways that people interrelate.
